ABOUT DR. SAMUEL WHITE, III
Dr. Samuel White, III is the founder and Senior Pastor of Agape Church. He was born, baptized and received his calling in Rochester New York. Dr. White graduated with honors from Brockport State College, earned a Master of Theological Studies at Harvard Divinity School, Master of Divinity at the Methodist Theological Seminary and earned a Doctor of Ministry from Drew University. Also, Dr. White is a Certified Grief Counselor, Dementia Care Specialist and Mental Health First Aide trainer.
Dr. White was ordained in the United Methodist Church and served as a pastor from 1984 to 1995. Dr. White was ordained in the Baptist Church served as pastor of Friendship Baptist Church from 1996 to 2023.
Dr White served as President of the Michigan Progressive Baptist Convention, Academic Dean, Professor, Hospice Chaplain, Adult Education Teacher, Social Work Tech., and Spiritual Care Manager of PACE SEMI.
Dr. White is a recipient of various civic and religious awards namely President Leadership Award, Rev. Charles Hill award for Social Activism, Detroit Minister of the Year, Spirit of Detroit award, and Governor Whitmer recognition.
Dr. White is the author of sixteen books and numerous newspaper and magazine publications.
Dr. White facilitates lectures, webinars and symposiums for Churches, higher educational institutions and social service agencies.
Dr. White founded Agape Institute for Ministry in 2020 and Agape Church in 2024.
Dr. White married Sandra Wilson in 1995 and they have two children Samuel White, IV , Alexandria Merrill (DeVontay) and grandson (Deon)
